Manchester United knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup with relative ease courtesy of a 3-1 win at the Emirates. Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring for United against his old club in the 31st minute, with Jesse Lingard adding a second within two minutes, both goals assisted by Romelu Lukaku. Although Pierre Emerick Aubameyang got Arsenal back into the game, a late Anthony Martial goal killed off any hopes of a comeback. The win makes it eight successive victories for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as United’s resurgence continues.
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s injury woes got compounded with the loss of central defensive pair, Laurent Koscielny and Sokratis Papastathopoulos to injuries.
