Austerity: A Deja-Vue language pushed us to ignore | Clemens Luckner | TEDxSciencesPoCampusMenton |
|
History often repeats itself; the similarities between the 19th Egyptian debt crisis and the present situation in Greece enforce this phenomenon. Clemens Luckner argues that the interaction between language and economics is key to understanding the complexity of these crises.
Originally from a small village in the south of Germany, Clemens came to Sciences Po Paris, Campus de Menton, to study International Law, Economics and Middle Eastern studies. In his free time he travels around the world and studies languages, as he finds them to be the key for intercultural exchange und understanding. His academic portfolio allowed him to look into things from a multidimensional perspective, which at times leads him to conclusions that he struggles to find in the text-books. Such a conclusion was the basis for his talk he will give at TEDxSciencesPoCM. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
