World record Chelsea bid for Wesley Fofana 'expected' as 20 clubs in for Callum Hudson-Odoi
Chelsea are growing in confidence that they can sign Leicester City centre-back Wesley Fofana, though it could take a world record bid to bring him to Stamford Bridge, football.london understands. The Blues have already had initial offers for the player turned down by the Foxes but it is understood that the 21-year-old is now pushing for a move away from Leicester despite playing in their opening day draw against Brentford. football.london believes that the asking price is an all-time high for a defender, with £85m the amount needed. Timo Werner is set to re-join RB Leipzig after two years in London for a free believed to be around £30m. Chelsea paid £47m for the German forward in 2020 but he has scored just 10 league goals since then and has failed to gel under Thomas Tuchel with the pair's relationship faltering in recent months. Werner will now return back to his former club and relieves Tuchel and Todd Boehly of £270,000 per week of wages with his exit as the club look to bolster their attack in the final weeks of the transfer window. There are more than 20 sides interested in signing winger Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer. The 21-year-old played no part in the opening day win against Everton and wasn't even on the bench at Goodison Park and is heavily rumoured to want first team football, something that is unlikely this season, even as a bit-part player that fills in at wingback. It is reported by SkySports' Dharmesh Sheth that there are no shortage of suitors for the youngster with more than 20 sides interested in bringing him in either on-loan or permanently. |
