Metamodern Values Explained | Dr. Daniel P. Görtz | TEDxTUBerlin

video thumbnail
How do you know if you have the right values? How do you know if they make sense?
We believe, that we all have the best values. But we can’t all be right somehow.
The modern society believes in rationality, science, progress and the dignity of humanity.
Modern life solved several problems, but produced some itself: Sustainability, Rapid Inequality and Mental Health Issues.
So how do our values change so we can solve these problems? Daniel P. Görtz is a Swedish sociologist and „theory artist“. He holds a PhD in sociology from Lund, based on an ethnographic study of ethnicity role in the Swedish police, and he currently lives and works as a writer who seeks to turn social theory into an art form. He is the co-founder of the think-tank Metamoderna and one of the key influences of the Swedish political party, an initiative which started in Stockholm in 2017. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
