In his talk, Ayaz takes us through the current global as well as Indian sports management market using various stats and figures. He focuses on the topic as to how can India progress to become a sporting nation.
Ayaz Memon has been a journalist for more than 32 years and has written extensively on sports, politics and cinema. After graduating from Bombay University, Memon pursued journalism as a career. A passion for sports— cricket, in particular— influenced Memon's decision not to follow his father’s footsteps as a lawyer and become one of the greatest commentators of all time, with experience at the ICC Cricket World Cup, FIFA World Cup, Olympics.In the course of his career,Ayaz has covered over 250 Test matches and more than 350 One-Day Internationals all over the world. He has also covered 8 Cricket World Cups, the 2006 Football World Cup, the 1988 Olympics, Wimbledon in 1991 and 1993, the 1998 and 2010 Commonwealth Games and the 1990 Asian Games. He has been an editor of a city evening newspaper and a morning entertainment supplement but cricket writing has never been out of his system.
