Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the third ODI between India and New Zealand. As far as the series is concerned this match is of little consequence as India have already sealed the deal with wins in the first two matches. Today's match will be taking place at the Holkar Stadium in Indore and a flat track is expected. India will look to test the depth of their squad having won the series. On the other hand the visitors will look to win the match and prevent a whitewash and move into the T20I series with a bit of form under their belt.

Toss Update: New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "we're happy to bat first. Batting first gives us an opportunity to create pressure on the opposition. At the same time it is a good challenge for the seamers spinners see what they can do. We want to keep testing ourselves and see what we can do. It is quite crucial that we get the peak there. We are looking for the larger picture. We are looking to give a game to the other players who didn't get a chance. We have got two changes. Both the seamers are out. Siraj and Shami are out. Umran and Chahal comes in."

Tom Latham (New Zealand Captain): "We will go on to bowl first. the ball might skid on later on. We are looking to learn from each game and another opportunity for us to do well. We are looking forward to finishing the game well. Yeah it is a high-scoring game. We've got one change. Jacob Duffey comes in for Henry Shipley."

Mitchell Santner: "When there is a lot of assistance I tried to slow it up a little bit. I think it is about trying and being smart. In the first few games we lost wickets early and will try to avoid it. The whole series is in India there are a lot of people here. Crazy cricketing country. Thanks mate."

No Siraj and Shami for India today. The two have had an impeccable impact in the last two ODIs. Umran is here but I feel with his extreme pace even edges might fly over the ropes. Jacob Duffey has played just 2 ODI so far. But I also believe that Umran is an attacking bowler and can extract those wickets despite going for runs. maybe I would like to have Jacob Duffy. He has the slower ones and can evolve out of the syllabus.

From an Indian perspective there were calls for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to skip this game and play a Ranji fixture instead ahead of the Tests against Australia. While the suggestion was indeed quite intriguing it hasn't materialized. Kohli in particular might want to improve his record against left-arm spin after falling to Mitchell Santner twice in two games. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav didn't get an opportunity in Raipur to make a mark but a run-fest in Indore might bring them into the limelight.

What to expect: Clear skies are expected on match day. It's been more than five years since Indore hosted a 50-over contest. India easily chased down a 290-plus target in that contest against Australia.

Pitch Report (Danny Morrison and Ajit Agarkar): "Not the biggest grounds. 69 meters straight boundary. It is going to be tough for the bowlers. We saw a little bit of joy for the seamers in the last game. It isn't going to be the same today. As the evening progresses the game will only skid on better. It seems like a batting day."
