The sword is the first weapon of war men made and it has had a huge impact on our history. Before the sword, axes, spears and even bows and arrows were used, but these weapons had originally been tools for working or hunting animals. The sword, on the other hand, was only meant for the fight against humans and thus has a special position.
The first swords were made about 5,300 years ago and were shaped relatively simple with a bronze blade and a wooden handle. For their time, they were still the most modern weapons and not easy to manufacture.
Throughout history, swords have continuously been improved and taken different forms in different cultures. Sometimes, really unusual swords were forged that look completely crazy at first glance...and these are exactly what we'll look at today.
