Back to the Future: leading the next wave of global cities | Michelle Fanzo | TEDxPittsburgh |
|
After starting PUMP, one of the most successful non-profits in Pittsburgh, Michelle Fanzo left the city to work in for the United Nations. After 15 years of international development and countless miles, she came back with five definitive steps to reinvigorate whatever community it is you call home.
A change agent, strategist and internationalist, Michelle is President of 4 Corners Consulting and a World Policy Institute Fellow. A former United Nations staffer, she worked in Afghanistan, Germany, Kenya, and Myanmar, and was part of Kofi Annan’s Executive Team. She first moved to Pittsburgh in the 1990s as a journalist, founded PUMP and graduated from GSPIA; after a 16-year hiatus she moved back in November 2014. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx |
