The Pakistani rupee experienced a significant recovery of 3% against the US dollar in the interbank market, erasing all losses from the previous day.
Trading at Rs290.20 per dollar, it gained Rs8.73 compared to the previous day's close. The appreciation was attributed to hopes of improved political stability following the Supreme Court's ruling that Imran Khan's arrest was unlawful. This decision is expected to ease political unrest and create opportunities for dialogue between the government and opposition. The foreign exchange reserves of the State Bank of Pakistan declined by $74 million to $4.38 billion, while commercial banks' reserves saw a slight increase of $21 million to $5.6 billion.
