Gladiator (2000) - Maximus: Now We Are Free (HD Tribute) |
|
Crowe plays the loyal General Maximus, who is betrayed when the emperor's ambitious son. Maximus learns that Marcus Aurelius, already old and aware of his death, wants to pass him the command of the Roman Empire. In this, his son Commodus, kills his father and takes the throne and orders the death of Maximus that manages to escape, becoming slave and gladiator, waging bloody battles in the Coliseum, the new form of amusement of the Romans. Maximus, ready to avenge the murder of his wife and son, knows that one must triumph in order to gain the confidence of the audience. The gladiator fights for a personal cause, almost solitary and brings benefits to the people, submitted by the policy of "bread and circus." Maximus knows that control of the crowd will be vital for him to engineer his revenge, which culminates in a fight with the Commodus himself. From general to slave, from slave to gladiator. I just do not know what to say about this perfection that is to unite at the right moments, in the right stretches the movie with the perfect track. Of note is the soundtrack composed by Hans Zimmer who deserved a trophy for all his excellent work. He did not take the Oscar, but won the Golden Globe.
