Towards the end of 2022, construction will start on the OSS for Iberdrola’s Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm. In order to ensure a safe working environment, Sabik Offshore was commissioned to mobilize cardinal buoys to mark the construction site.

During clear weather conditions in September, our service team, Torsten Behm and Robert Starke set to work. Using the buoy layer vessel Krebs Helios, four giant steel cardinal buoys were installed at key points of the windfarm boundaries at a water depth of around 30 meters.

In addition to the cardinal buoys, a wave measuring probe with an associated warning buoy made of PE plastic was deployed. Its role is to report the wave heights in the construction area in real time.

Thanks to good preparation, the well-coordinated crew and our service team we completed the job within two days without any problems. Now that the construction field has been marked, construction of the OSS can begin.

Construction of the planned 50 wind turbines will start in spring 2023. Once completed by the end of 2024, the windfarm is expected to supply clean electricity for up to 475,000 households.

Auftakt für den neuen Offshore Windpark Baltic Eagle in der deutschen Ostsee

Noch Ende 2022 sollen die Arbeiten an Iberdrolas neuem Ostsee-Windpark Baltic Eagle beginnen. Los geht es mit der Errichtung der Offshore Sub Station. Dafür wurde SABIK Offshore mit der Kennzeichnung des Baufeldes beauftragt. Bei perfekten Wetterbedingungen hat unser Seezeichenservice-Team Torsten Behm und Robert Starke, Mitte September mit dem Tonnenleger Krebs Helios die vier riesigen Kardinaltonnen aus Stahl auf rund 30 Metern Wassertiefe ausgelegt.

Zusätzlich wurde eine Wellenmesssonde mit einer dazugehörigen Warnboje aus PE-Kunststoff ausgesetzt, die die Wellenhöhen im Baufeld in Echtzeit meldet.

Das gut eingespielte Team aus Schiffsbesatzung und unseren Seezeichen-Spezialisten hat dank guter Vorbereitung den Job nach zwei Tagen ohne Probleme abgeschlossen. Nachdem das Baufeld nun markiert ist, kann mit der Errichtung der OSS begonnen werden.

Im Frühjahr 2023 startet der Aufbau der geplanten 50 Windkraftanlagen und ab Ende 2024 soll der Windpark dann sauberen Strom für bis zu 475.000 Haushalte liefern.
