When you are researching a topic and writing a paper you may use a list of books, scholarly articles, and other sources. This is a bibliography, and it appears at the end of your paper. Bibliography entries must be written in a very specific format. BibMe is an automated citation creator and bibliography generator. BibMe can find your source from external databases, fill in the information, and then accurately format the citation. Or, if you have the source in front of you, you can enter your entries manually.

Step # 1 - Go to “Bibme” site
First, open your browser and go to “www.bibme.org”

Step # 2 - Create an account
You should create an account so you can download and save your bibliographies. To do this, go to the upper right side of the screen and click on “Register”. Complete the form, agree to the terms and press “Register” again.

Step # 3 - Do a search to see the bibliography
On the site, you will find a blue box where you can do an auto-fill or manual-fill. You can search for a book, or magazine, newspaper, website, journal, film or other category of media. For example we can type in the search bar the book title “Misery” and press the “Find book” button. You’ll see a list of books that appears. Choose the one you’re looking for and press “Select”. The information for the bibliography will appear.

Step # 4 - Create a bibliography
Press “Add to my bibliography” and you’ll see on the right screen that the bibliography has been saved. You’ll find three options. The first is “Start new bibliography”, to create a new search. The second option is to download the bibliography to Word or save it to your account. Here you’ll also be able to Open and edit it; share, download, rename and delete. Remember, you can also use the manual entry mode to complete a bibliography.
