The Critics Choice Awards are supposed to honor the best in film and television, but this year, they are also making headlines for a shocking exclusion. Meghan Markle, the former actress turned royal turned Netflix producer, has been banned from the prestigious event by none other than the CEO of the Critics Choice Association, Joey Berlin.

Joey Berlin personally took off Meghan Markle's name from the guest list, and instructed his staff to not invite her or her husband, Prince Harry, to the awards show, which will air live on The CW on Sunday, January 14, 2024. Berlin's decision was motivated by his disdain for Meghan Markle and her controversial documentary, Harry & Meghan, which was nominated for best streaming non-fiction series.
