Seetimaarr (transl. Blow the whistle) is a 2021 Indian Telugu-language sports action drama film written and directed by Sampath Nandi, and produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi under the banner of Srinivasaa Silver Screen. The film stars Gopichand, Tamannaah, Digangana Suryavanshi, and Bhumika Chawla. The plot follows Karthik (Gopichand), the coach of the Andhra women's Kabbadi team who seeks to win the nationals with the help of Telangana's Kabaddi coach Jwala Reddy (Tamannaah) to save his school in the village. It features music by Mani Sharma and cinematography by Soundararajan. The film's production and released were deferred due to COVID-19 pandemic. Seetimaarr was theatrically released on 10 September 2021, coinciding with Vinayaka Chaviti.

All a full-time bank employee and part-time kabaddi coach wants is to bring national relevance to the school his father built and help young kabaddi players in his village win the national championship. It might prove difficult than just coaching them though.
Karthi (Gopichand) trains young girls in his village in Andhra Pradesh in kabaddi and Jwala Reddy (Tamannaah Bhatia) does the same in Telangana. The duo land up in Delhi to help them win the national championship but menacing villain Singh (Tarun Arora) has other plans and abducts the AP team. Karthi now has to stretch his muscles beyond just training and bring back his team before it’s too late.

The anticipated kabaddi bits get all the more dramatic with the kidnapping of a whole team. While Singh, a UP don controls his area as easy as he chews pan, it also gives our hero Karthi time to show his ‘South ka satta’ by destroying his entire empire by the end of the film. Sampath Nandi also chooses to insert picturesque and glamorous duets in midst of serious conflict which seems like an odd choice. Imagine coaches Jwala Reddy and Karthi taking a break to dance to Jwala Reddy when the team is in danger. The song is otherwise shot well and will be remembered for long.
The film cannot be called predictable no matter what but if only Tamannaah’s character was fleshed out better. The actress tries her best to pull off a Telangana accent but it’s hard to find a trace of it in what she manages. It’s high time makers try to stereotype certain languages just by lazily placing some words that supposedly do the job. The action scenes at the climax are again top-notch and it’ll be enjoyable even if it’s not your favourite genre. The film does not lose pace till the end and Sampath needs to be applauded for the same.

The mass masalaness of it all truly make us ignore the many flaws in Seetimaarr which have nothing to do with the fact that there’s a strong script backing it. This film is a paisa vasool one in this OTT era.
