Whether it's a school going child, a common man, a vip, or a vvip like the former Prime Minister of the country, Pakistan is hardly safe for anyone. Now, former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday, 3rd November sustained a bullet injury on his leg when a gunman opened fire on the container-mounted-truck carrying him during his protest march. The shooting has also killed one person, but the former Pakistan prime minister is now out of danger. Imran Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has claimed it as an "assassination attempt." The incident occurred near Allah Wala Chowk of Wazirabad town in Pakistan’s Punjab when 70-year-old Imran Khan was leading a protest demanding early elections.

However, the attacker was held by the people who were present at the rally. His name is Faisal Butt. He is in early 20s and wearing salwar-kameez, had been walking along the car.
He said, “I have done this because Imran Khan was misleading the people. I could not tolerate this. Therefore, I shot at him. I attempted to kill him. Only Imran Khan and nobody else. I thought about doing so because there were decks playing aloud when the Azaan was going on there. Thinking over this, my conscience did not consider these things to be good. I was convinced to do this from the morning itself. Rather, I was thinking of shooting him right from the day he left Lahore and took his march. Since then, it was clear to me that I should not spare him. No one is with me. There is no force backing me. I am all alone. I came here on my own bike from my home. I parked my bike near my uncle’s shop. He runs a motorcycle showroom.”

Videos of the incident have emerged which show that a man had tried to stop Faisal by snatching the gun from him. Prime Minister Imran Khan believes that the attack on him in which bullets were fired was carried out on the orders of three people including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, country's Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and a top ISI general Maj Gen Faisal.
