Wong Chin Foo: The First Chinese-American | Ep. 136 |
![]() |
In this re-recorded version of a CHP classic, Laszlo presents the mostly forgotten story of Wong Chin Foo (王清福 Wáng Qīngfú). His spirit is alive and well in many of today's Chinese-Americans who are standing up to anti-Asian sentiment across the country.
Like Wong Chin Foo did in the 1870s and 80's, Chinese-American community leaders and citizens are not standing idly by and are fighting back. Wong Chin Foo's story is a good one to listen to. If you've never heard of him, I humbly recommend this episode. Truly a remarkable life. ------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to the China History Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-china-history-podcast/id489369498 Subscribe to the Tea History Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-tea-history-podcast/id1566401397?uo=4 ------------------------------------------------------------- For more CHP and Teacup Media content, visit the website: https://teacup.media Visit the Teacup Store: https://store.teacup.media/ ------------------------------------------------------------- To support the CHP and Teacup Media Donate at https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/ChinaHistoryPodcast Become a Patreon subscriber: https://www.patreon.com/TeacupMedia Buy a Coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/LaszloCHP ------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/teacup.media Twitter: https://twitter.com/teacup_media Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TeacupMediaInc |
