With the occupying protests in Ottawa gaining international support, similar movements hoping to protest COVID-19 mandates are underway in other countries like France, New Zealand and especially in the United States.

American lawmakers are already threatening to investigate GoFundMe for shutting down fundraising for the Ottawa protest. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has accused the site of effectively trying to steal the $10 million raised for the Canadian movement.
