World connections | Scott Hindman | TEDxBaldwinHighSchool

video thumbnail
As a young man, Scott studied business and the German language and wanted to explore the business world abroad. While studying and working in Austria, he discovered that business cannot work internationally without an understanding between cultures. The only way to truly have a relationship with people or businesses in foreign countries, with mutual respect, is to fully understand their culture. Since his experience abroad, it has been his goal to teach and spread the German and Austrian cultures so more people can understand their way of life and recipe for financial success. Because of Scott’s efforts, not only do students have an opportunity to study German and visit Austria, they also have actual friends there: contacts that they can maintain for the rest of their lives.

Scott Hindman has earned his BA from Baldwin-Wallace College, his MA from Bowling Green State University, and his MS Ed. From Duquesne University. He spent four years in a study abroad experience at the University of Salzburg, Austria. He has worked for ten years as leader of the Baldwin exchange program with the Konrad Lorenz Gymnasium, Gänserndorf, Austria and now the Bundes regional Gymnasium Spittal an der Drau, Austria. His goal is to bring a better understanding of the German-speaking world to Americans to strengthen ties and improve business relations.
