Over 9 million workers across the UK have been furloughed during the coronavirus pandemic and the claims from employers totals £33.8 billion. Betting company William Hill have said that they will payback £24.5 million of furlough funds as the company is now doing well. Hair salon owner Helen Ward used the scheme to furlough 100 staff and says that the furlough scheme shouldn't have to be paid back whereas executive editor of the Times Money Mentorinancial journalist, Gemma Godfrey believes that they should.
