video thumbnail
The artist, Conrad Shawcross, embarks on a discussion about hydrogen, a precious element which still seems relatively unknown in terms of public consciousness. Conrad brilliantly underlines the potential of hydrogen as a more sustainable energy source, explaining how we could use it as a lever to neutralise carbon emissions and move towards carbon-free energy. Conrad Shawcross works with light and geometry to highlight the limits of perception and our reality. He creates mechanical sculptures and installations with diverse materials, highlighting scientific laws and demonstrating their abstract nature by exploring subjects that are informed by physics, geometry, philosophy. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
