Taranga Expert Series | Episode 2

It’s our honour and pleasure to present “Taranga- Expert Series “
This series is a tribute to my Dada Guru Padmashri Pandit Mani Lal Nag on his 81st birthday.

We are very fortunate to have one of the expert authorities of Darbhanga Gharana, centuries old Dhrupad Tradition, Pandit Prem Kumar Mallick. He was very gracious to accept our invitation to perform in this series. We thank him from the bottom of our hearts.
He belongs to the illustrious musical family of Darbhanga Gharana and represents the 12th generation of this musical lineage. His tradition is embodied in the stunning force of ALAAP, the incessant flow of Laay, joined with the finest poetry and the use of Khandar Vaani and Gauhar Vaani.

He is ably accompanied on The Pakhawaj by his son and disciple, Dr. Prashant Mallick, who is an accomplished Dhrupad singer himself.
