The Portuguese Language: 10 Facts

In this video, we will take a look at the European and Brazilian Portuguese Language and its features. We will see that it is spoken in Brazil, Mozambique, Angola, Portugal, Sao Tomé and Principe, Equatorial Guinea, Cape Verde and in many more places. It even has an Organization of Portuguese Speaking Countries called CPLP, which stands for Comunidade dos Países de Lingua Portuguesa or in English: Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries, and we will talk about the grammar features that distinguish it from Spanish.
Furthermore we will see that it comes from the old language of Galician-Portuguese and was originally brought there by Roman settlers and colonists. The longest word in Portuguese is anticonstitucionalissimamente. Only 5% of the total Portuguese Speakers actually live in Portugal. The vast majority lives in Brazil, Angola and Mozambique.
We will also find out the differences between Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese.
