video thumbnail
Corrin LaCombe is a world-traveling conservationist who spends her time protecting endangered primates and the planet. She first became a primate advocate at the tender age of eight and as a young girl could often be found playing 'save the primates from the poachers' and other save-the-world type games. Truth be told, not much has changed since! Corrin studied Anthropology at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and completed her Masters of Science Degree in Primate Conservation Biology from Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England. Corrin has traveled the globe with the San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research as their Senior Conservation Education Research Coordinator leading in-field conservation projects in Vietnam, Mexico, and Malaysia, specializing in education, outreach, and alternative livelihood development. Corrin has co-produced documentary films on endangered primates in Bangladesh, authored children's books on environmental issues, and is the founder of Primate Connections, an organization dedicated to helping primate conservation organizations grow. To date, Corrin has raised funds and generated awareness for over fifty organizations worldwide through her Primate Connections programs. Corrin's most recent venture, We Thrive Global, is a company committed to empowering movements that contribute to a thriving world. Through collaborative technology, training programs, live events, environmentally conscious commerce, and global projects, Corrin continues her march toward planetary sustainability.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
