I think the results are considerably better than I had been getting with the USB turntable. And yes, I know about the hum -- I think I have it corrected -- it won't be a feature of future uploads. The soundtrack album to the Talking Heads' concert movie, Stop Making Sense. Recorded in late 1983 and released in the fall of 1984. The live versions of the songs are...OK, and while it's fun to see how the band reinvented many of their songs for live performance, in almost all cases I feel that they got it right the first time in the studio. The movie is I suppose something of a cult classic...I personally don't see what all the fuss is about -- it's a concert movie. Perhaps because Jonathan Demme directed it, the movie gets more praise than it otherwise would? But, it's the Talking Heads being the Talking Heads. And that, in any form, is awfully good. The visuals are the clothes, hair, makeup, etc., of 1983 and thereabouts . . . the 80s really WERE different . . . Please listen, subscribe, comment, and enjoy! |
