This is about drawing landscape backgrounds with very basic shapes, then varying them to make it look more tree-ish. It's always good to design with the most basic ideas, then add to them and break them up. This isn't necessarily about rendering a landscape--that's another subject, but this will help you get through the early stages of designing and drawing.
