COVID-19: Health Systems & Pandemics
Lecture 5: Mitigation Via Quarantine and Other Strategies Reema Persad-Clem, PhD, MPH, Adjunct Assistant Professor Data Science This is part of 10 lectures that were recorded for Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine's (GCSOM) "COVID-19: Health Systems & Pandemics" course. The concept of this course originated in Spring 2020 after multiple clinicians, students, Geisinger leaders and others expressed a desire to learn more about the SARS CoV-2 virus and the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal is to introduce the learner to the evaluation, management, scientific underpinnings and impact of a pandemic. Lectures employ GCSOM faculty, Geisinger clinicians and Geisinger researchers. Please note: The lectures were originally recorded between October and December 2020. All content is felt to remain relevant. Since these lectures were recorded vaccines have been introduced and a significant second surge has occurred. If you have any questions, contact the course coordinator: W.
