Call of Duty is a first-person shooter video game franchise. The series began on Microsoft Windows, and later expanded to consoles and handhelds. Several spin-off games have been released. The earlier games in the series are set primarily in World War II, but later games like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare are set in modern times or in futuristic settings. The most recent game, Call of Duty: WWII, was released on November 3, 2017. An upcoming title, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, is in development and to be released on October 12, 2018. The Call of Duty games are published and owned by Activision. While Infinity Ward is still a developer, Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games also develop several of the titles with the release of the studios' games alternating with each other.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (stylized as Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII) is an upcoming multiplayer first-person shooter developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. It is scheduled to be released worldwide on October 12, 2018, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is a sequel to the 2015 game Call of Duty: Black Ops III and will be the fifth entry in the Black Ops subseries, and the 15th main installment in the Call of Duty series overall.

Blackout is a new battle royale-style game mode featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. It replaces the Campaign from the previous Call of Duty installments. The map will include other maps from the Black Ops series, and is stated to be the largest map to ever appear in a Call of Duty game.The Private Beta Trailer (along with the Blackout Beta Teaser), features maps to be confirmed such like, Verrückt, Turbine, Cargo, Raid, and Nuketown.
