Quick & Easy Warm Up - Paint Chip Collage #arttutorial #abstractart #collageart |
|
In this video I demonstrate a simple, fun way to let go and loosen up your art using paint chips - the little color samples you find in the paint department at home improvement stores. As mentioned, I saw Carolina Della Valle doing this on her instagram feed (www.instagram.com/making.me) and wanted to try it myself. You can use any colors you choose for this exercise, the key to your success is to vary the shapes that you cut out of the paint chip. This creative practice will help you get out of your head so you can simply play. This results in unexpected designs and it's FUN! This exercise can be used on its own as a collage warm up, a way to try out new combinations of positive and negative space, as an art journal page, and/or as a mixed media painting starter.
Materials used: sketchbook, paint chips, scissors, and gloss medium. ****If you've enjoyed this video, please consider subscribing to this channel to help the algorithm like me so my videos can reach more people.**** Comments, likes, questions, and shares are always appreciated!
