“Hitler massacred three million Jews. Now there are three million drug addicts. I’d be happy to slaughter them.” Duterte’s hardline approach has led to increased death, violence, and emotional scarring. While some support Duterte, the number of victims of this war is even larger. “With every father killed, the number of poor people increases”, says Grace Dela Rosa, whose husband was killed by the anti-drugs police.
