video thumbnail
The Hubble Telescope has been taking amazing images of our universe and is one of NASA's longest missions. Astronauts recently installed a new camera and spectrograph to look farther back in space.

Following the explorations of Hubble, we visit CU's Laboratory for Atmospheric Space Physics. In partnership with NASA, LASP launched Kepler. This incredibly powerful space telescope will observe some 100,000 stars looking for earth-like planets.

We meet with aerospace engineering major James Binney, a 'student commander' who helps pilot the Kepler mission. LASP mission operations director, Bill Possel, joins us in the studio speculates on the possibility of finding other earths.

Produced by the University of Colorado at Boulder Journalism and Mass Communication students.
