The United States-Mexico Cultural and Educational Foundation (USMCEF), and the Irving Symphony Orchestra present the 2015 5 de Mayo Celebration Concert, with the performance of the renowned Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán.

Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán was created in 1897, and is considered the best Mariachi in Mexico. In the decades that followed, it became the quintessential mariachi. It has made numerous recordings and appeared in more than 200 films. The Irving Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit organization originated as the Irving String Orchestra in 1961, and through the years, it has established itself as one of the finest symphony orchestras in North Texas. In 1991, Héctor Guzmán was appointed music director of the symphony.
