About the talk: Nuclear energy is often touted as a solution to climate change, sometimes even the only solution. This talk will discuss some of the arguments offered for this idea and who are offering those. It will then discuss two kinds of problems with expanding nuclear power, the first pertaining to the desirability and the latter to the feasibility of such an expansion. Finally, the talk will focus on how these problems might be seen by those who benefit financially from nuclear energy, and their interests.
