Introducing Wayne Ching, 2019 Garth Newel Emerging Artist Alumni (Nancy Klein Maguire Fellow) |
|
In place of this year's alumni concert postponement due to Covid-19, we wanted to present special performances by these Emerging Artists for the week of April 6th to the 12th.
Today we bring you an introduction to Wayne Ching, 2019 Nancy Klein Maguire Fellow, who will be premiering an excerpt of Schubert's Fantasy with violinist Sumire Hirotsuru this Saturday on our YouTube channel. Today he will be presenting Beethoven's "Emperor" piano concerto. The Emerging Artist Alumni Series brings back past participants of Garth Newel Music Center's Emerging Artist Summer Fellowship program to present a recital as emerged professionals. The Emerging Artist Fellowship Program is a four-week, intensive chamber music program for string players and pianists ages 18-28, and is Garth Newel Music Center's flagship educational program. Highly competitive fellowships are awarded to dedicated instrumentalists who will receive lessons and coachings from the Garth Newel Piano Quartet and other renowned faculty. http://www.garthnewel.org/education/emerging-artist-fellowship-program/ |
