Australian Open is the first Grand Slam Tennis Tournament of the year held normally every year on the last 2 weeks of January. AO is held at Melbourne Park, in the sports capital and beautiful city of Melbourne in the state of Victoria in Australia. AO23 was held 16-29 January 2023.

Venue: Melbourne Park has a lot of arenas and external playing courts (around 13) in the park. Rod Laver Arena (RLA) is the main/center court where elimination round and final are held and has big capacity. It has a roof and depending on the whether conditions it could be opened or closed. Other arenas with smaller capacity where matches are held are Margaret Court, John Cain, Kia and 1573 Arena.

The park has public areas such as the Grand Slam Oval, AO Ballpark for the kids, Garden Square, Centerpiece, AO Official Store and food shops and bars. Here you can sit, relax and enjoy while watching the highlights, the game and scheduled matches. There are a lot of chairs and tables and even sunscreen lotion are being given away for protection from the sun. It is indeed a festive atmosphere for the young and adults and families, and visitors.

Players: The players are the men and women adults and juniors boys and girls and as well those in wheelchair who all come from different countries bringing along with them their experience and passion for the sport. Some of them are standout and famous veterans and some are rookies, both ranked and unranked who play with their hearts in giving fun and excitement to the public. There are even the legends in tennis who would come and group together and provide entertainment while showing their skills. Even for their age and form, some are going for the record number of wins (of course that includes the prize money); while some are playing their best to improve their world ranking and personal best.

Tickets: You could avail of the cheaper price for the Ground Pass Ticket which could be (Day/Night/ or All day) . You could watch the players play or practice on external courts and smaller arenas for free. Range could be from AUD 20 to 75. Standard Seats tickets pricing would depend on what event like in men and women singles/doubles/mix double; which Arena (big or small capacity); session as in day afternoon/night; playing date as in from elimination round QF/SF and Finals; and seat as in covered or uncovered, lower or upper seats. Range could be from AUD 100 up to couple of thousands. Reserved Seating with Package included/sponsored on court tickets are the higher expensive ones, price range is from 600 to the tens of thousands per ticket.

Experience: This is our 2nd time in the Australian Open. For us, this will be among the treasured memories of unforgettable moments of power hitting serves; gutsy moves, excellent shots, close call, the grunt, frustration and joy of the players as they battle it out for the prestigious title. Not to forget those dedicated and quick ball boys and girls, umpire and officials who also put their hearts out in making
this tournament a success.

In our long bucket list is to see the other grand slam tennis tournaments, ie the French Open, US Open and the Championship at Wimbledon. At the moment it is just there as a dream :)

Our VLOG: If you haven't watched, this video will give you a glimpse of the ground area of the park during the day and short clip of the highlights of the quarterfinal match of each of the men's and women's singles at night, Day 9 of AO23. We hope you like and enjoy it.

Winners: BTW the Winner of this year AO Women's Singles is Sabalenka and in the Men's Singles is Djokovic.
