KALA NERA, PELION, GREECE (subtitled)

video thumbnail
Kala Nera is fishing village, and gratefully to tourism it became one of favourit turistic destination in this area. And not only tourists, but also Greeks, who consider this part of the region of Pilion the most beautiful for relaxation and enjoyment. Beaches, tavernas, the village itself is very beasy on weekends, especially on Sundays, when local Greek people come to Kala Nera and other beaches on this side of the Peninsula.

Kala Nera belongs to the municipality of Milies, located on south-eastern side of Pelion Peninsula, in the Pagasitik bay, 18 km away from Volos, significant port of this area. In the village you may find everything necessary for staying. There are tavernas, market stores, pharmacy, bakeries...

Kala Nera is great starting point for taking the visit to other beaches in this area.

City beach is combined type: sandy with pebbles and small stones on it. First two meters in the see the bottom is stony as well, but than comes the sandy part. With the depth there is the belt of the see grass, and then the sandy bottom in the deep.

If you dive, you can find shells, and some of them is alive, with a crawfish inside.

The see is clear, warm and calm, thankfully to the bay. The sunsets are miraculous.
Sunshades and deck chairs are available on the beach, but beach has parts without them and you may place your towel and sunumbrella and enjoy on your own.

If you are interested to take a visit of this part of the coast all the way to the top of Peninsula, to swim in different beaches, to take a visit of two islands in this area, Atlas and Trikeri, you may ask for this tour the local agencies located in the street near the see.

The place itself, and the beach as well, are not crowded, but pleasent and sprightly.

We enjoyed our staying very much.
