In lean PCOS, weight loss is not a treatment option, because even in this PCOS like the obese PCOS patients we have insulin resistance, these patients are more prone for Type 2 diabetes. So the diet should be tailored according to this, keeping this in mind the lean PCOS should go for a low carbohydrate diet and a high protein diet. So this will include the whole grains and the lean proteins, the lean meat and no starchy vegetables and fruits which are of low glycaemic index. So fruits like apple, pear, oranges are allowed. Also saturated fats, dried fruits and oily items to be avoided. Fermented foods and high fibre foods are recommended for lean PCOS.
