If you're having trouble getting the tone and strength that you desire in your legs, you're going to want to make sure you're avoiding these leg mistakes. Instead there are several gym mistakes that people commonly make with leg training that can hinder the results you're getting from your legs workout. The first big leg workout mistake is not lifting heavy enough. The best leg workout isn't about super special thigh exercises. If you want to know how to build muscle, lifting heavy weights is an important technique to have in your toolbox. Also, if you're not stretching you may be making one of the most common leg mistakes. Focus on doing 5 minutes of leg stretches following your leg workouts but NOT before them. Another important thing to do during every one of your thigh exercises is making sure you have that mind muscle connection. This means visualizing the leg muscle(s) you are working during your legs workout and really focusing on them in every rep. In my opinion this is one of the most common gym mistakes people make and such an easy one to fix. Another leg workout mistake is not training your legs often enough. You may need to increase your leg training from once to twice per week to start seeing the difference you are looking for. Also make sure you are focusing adequately on proper form in your thigh exercises, and avoiding the worst squat mistakes so that you don't injure yourself. Finally women often focus on finding the best leg exercises to do, but are focusing so much on being in caloric deficit that they aren't eating enough to allow their leg muscles to grow. You can't be in caloric deficit if you want muscle growth, so you'll need to be sure to avoid this common training mistake.
