Rafael Nadal has set lots of Tennis records in his career and many of them at the ATP Montecarlo Masters 1000 event. Can Stefanos Tsitsipas break Nadal's records at the Montecarlo Masters?
This is the history of the ATP Masters 1000 in Montecarlo and a ranking of all the Montecarlo champions.

In 2021 Stefanos Tsitsipas became the first Greek player to win the Montecarlo Masters title. At the start of the 2022 European clay court season he successfully defended his title and became the first non Big 3 player to defend a Masters title since Andy Murray in Shanghai 2010. His win in the final against Davidovich Fokina (who had previously defeated the world No 1 player Novak Djokovic) put Tsitsipas 2nd in the 2022 ATP Race to Turin only behind the GOAT of clay Rafael Nadal and ahead of the new uprising star Carlos Alcaraz who just recently won his first ATP Masters 1000 title in Miami. In the World Ranking Stefanos Tsitsipas will still have to defend lots of points in the clay season, as he played in the Final of the ATP 500 in Barcelona 2021 against Rafa and the Final of the French Open 2021 vs Novak Djokovic. In both matches he showed what a big tennis talent he has on clay even though he lost both times in tight battles.

Besides 13 time French Open champion and winner of a record 26 Clay Masters tournaments Rafa Nadal, Stefanos Tsitsipas will be maybe the biggest favorite at all the upcoming tournaments: the Barcelona ATP 500, the Madrid and Rome Masters and Roland Garros. If Nadal comes back from his injury, will the Tsitsipas be able to challenge him and is his strength on clay big enough to even come close to Nadal's crazy records set at all these tournaments?
