Alright so as of today I have officially stopped barbell squatting, and that is because I am switching exclusively to hack squats for the time being. Now there’s nothing inherently wrong with barbell squats, however, from purely a muscle building standpoint, hack squats are always gonna be a better option because you have back support, meaning that there's significantly less limiting factors which allows you to take your quads much closer to failure. And since all I really care about is building muscle, this is just a much smarter option for the long term, but again if you like barbell squatting, hitting prs, and training for strength, by all means, keep doing it, it still is a fantastic exercise and you still will build a lot of muscle with it.
