Part 2 of 2: Hip-Hop Empowerment in the Classroom In this session, Dr. Winfrey explains the Hip-Hop Empowerment Model, which is the foundation of the H.Y.P.E. Hip-Hop Therapy Curriculum. Dr. Winfrey discusses the elements of hip-hop from its history, to its culture, to the Hip-Hop Declaration of Peace and then the tenets of the Hip-Hop Empowerment Model, with examples of how it can be integrated into teaching. This is an interactive presentation that also offers practical steps for utilizing hip-hop culture in most classrooms. At the end, Dr. Winfrey answers questions from participants. |
