The leader of the depressed classes whose whole life was spent on emancipation the position of Depressed classes especially untouchables. The discrimination he faced, the pain he felt for downtrodden led him to take very assertive action in his life. He led Mahad Satyagraha, temple entry movement, demanded separate electorate for untouchables. After the Poona Pact, he had lost hope in reforming the Hindu society. He furiously declared 'I will not die as Hindu' in Nasik conference of 1937. These were not only empty words, just two months before his death he converted to Buddhism with his lakhs followers. He was the one who fought for the downtrodden, criticized Gandhi for them, resist Congress's politics, gave them legal rights to uplift their position. He is the father of the Indian constitution and Godfather of Untouchables
