“Jatah Katah”, the story {Katha} goes like many years, before Ramayana took place, Raavan was very proud Rakshasha, he was a Rishi by birth, because of his demon mother, he became demon & was very proud [ Ahankari}, that he was the only mighty being in this whole universe. Once he happen to reach Kailash, Nandi stopped him by going on kailash, he told Raavan, no one can enter Kailash without the permission of lord shiva, but Ravana in his pride asked Nandi, who is Shiva. Nandi said that, he is the mightiest god in this full universe, Ravana felt insulted & he tried to lift Kailash. Lord Shiva sitting on kailasha, just pressed his toe on Kailasha, raavan started getting crushed into the earth, with full terrible force, he struggled a lot against that force but couldn’t, then he realized that lord shiva is the only power & divine himself, hence Ravana cried & shouted for mercy again & again, to shiva by reciting this tandav stotra “Jatah katah” with his full energy, lord shiva got pleased by his again & again pleading. lord shiva blessed him & this stotra for yugas. {Raavana too himself was a very great singer, dancer & Musician. Raavan hatta instrument is on his name.}
“Jatah Katah” is beautifully & very devotedly composed by Akashraj, who himself is a Shiv Bhakt. Very well sung by Renowned Marathi abhang singer Ajit Kadkade. Akashraj composed this Taandav Stotra in 3 Ragas, Are: Gurjari Todi. Puriya Dhanashari & Hindol.
