Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks to Niall Ferguson (Historian, Author, Hoover Institute Senior Fellow) about the decline of academia, the distorting of American history in the 1619 Project and if the next generation will be woke. Niall discusses what is wrong with the New York Times Pulitzer Prize winning 1619 Project and how it distorts American history and the founding of the United States. The practice of slavery is not what made the US unique. He thinks these journalists would be better off focusing on what actually made the US unique, it’s constitution. Niall stresses that history needs to show the successes and failures of the past and that history like the 1619 Project and Howard Zinn’s “A People’s History Of The United States” teaches a fake history by focusing only on the errors of the past. Niall discusses why he is not worried about the current wave of protests across the country or any approaching tyranny. Niall also shares how the smartphone has changed the nature of protests worldwide.
