CSDS- CSIS Transatlantic Dialogue on the Indo-Pacific

video thumbnail
The questions of how to deal with an increasingly assertive China, and how to preserve an open international order in the Indo-Pacific have gained prominence in the transatlantic agenda. In 2021, the United States and the European Union launched a dialogue on China and high-level consultations on the Indo-Pacific. NATO has been paying growing attention to the strategic implications of China’s rise, and the need to strengthen ties with key partners in the Indo-Pacific. These questions are likely to feature prominently at the Alliance’s upcoming Madrid summit in June 2022.

CSIS and the Centre for Security, Diplomacy, and Strategy (CSDS) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel’s School of Governance are co-organizing the annual Transatlantic Dialogue on the Indo-Pacific to provide new perspectives on the ongoing debates on transatlantic cooperation on China and the Indo-Pacific. This event will feature welcoming remarks from John Hamre, CSIS President and CEO, and a Keynote Address from Kurt Campbell, Deputy Assistant to the President and Indo-Pacific Policy Coordinator on the U.S. National Security Council. Following these remarks, there will be panel discussions featuring officials and experts from across the Atlantic on Security and Defense and Supply Chain Resilience.
