Qudratullah Shahab is a distinguished name of Urdu literature. He was a public servant and worked in high positions in the bureaucracy in subcontinent and Pakistan. He remained with Ghulam Muhammad and Ayub Khan as principal secretary and saw the state matters very nearly.
Qudratullah Shahab was a close friend of Mumtaz Mufti and Ashfaq Ahmed. Both of them were very much impressed by the spiritual approach of Qudratullah Shahab. They declared him as a Sufi saint.
Qudratullah Shahab authored many books like Surkh Feeta, Nafsanay, Ya Khuda, Maa Ji and Shahab Nama. Shahab Nama is the autobiography of Qudratullah Shahab.
