This lecture is for an Applied Kinesiology class - it is an overview of the different types of strength training and how they initiate specific changes in the body. This portion reviews muscle motor units and how motor units work to create muscle contractions.
A motor unit is like a spark plug (which creates the spark that ignites gas in the engine to create power) - it sends the signal to the muscle fibers to contract.
