The Future Of The Toronto Raptors Is In His Hands.. |
|
The Toronto Raptors and its fans were expecting a massive leap to be taken by Scottie Barnes going into his second season, but the player ultimately has a plateauing sort of season after winning the 2022 NBA Rookie of the Year award. The Raptors as a whole had a disappointing season as they slumped to a 41-41 record and missed the playoffs and perhaps Barnes himself had a part to play in that. The weight of the world’s expectations were on hi shoulders and though it was a relatively fine season from the former Florida State guard, it still fell short of those sky high expectations.
Fans are now wondering a lot about the team and the player. The fanbase still does not quite understand the direction that Masai Ujiri’s front office is taking the team and therefore does not really have an understanding of what part Scottie Barnes is going to be playing or perhaps what position he is going to be playing. Despite all of this Scottie Barnes is surely working on his game, but what does he really need to be working on to take his game to the next level. Whichever direction the Raptors are going, Scottie Barnes is going to have a part to play. If Pascal Siakam remains with the team the he is going to need a co-star for the team to be successful and if the team is looking to fall back in a different direction then Barnes is going to have the keys to the franchise, and that is when the pressure is really going to mount. The big question is, can the former 4th overall pick handle it? ✅ Subscribe to my Second Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@AmateurHourSports2 ✅ Subscribe to my Live Stream Highlights Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@AmateurHourReactions ✅ Join the Amateur Hour Discord: https://discord.gg/2NgdqRJSrg ✅ Follow Jacob Gramegna on Twitter: https://twitter.com/jacob_gramegna ✅ Donate to support the content: https://streamlabs.com/amateurhoursports/tip 0:00 – Overview 0:37 – The face of the franchise 2:08 – Battling expectations 2:59 – Rookie vs Sophomore 5:18 – “Get in the gym” 6:19 – Team USA Snub? 7:23 – Uncertainty in Toronto 8:00 – What Barnes need to work on 9:46 – Conditioning is everything 11:19 – The fate of the franchise This is Amateur Hour Sports.
