Four senior officials attached to the Russian Embassy in Ireland have been asked to leave the country as their activities have "not been in accordance with international standards of diplomatic behaviour".

In response, the Embassy of Russia in Ireland described the move as "groundless" and noted that it "will not go unanswered".
