Iceland Volcano Eruption Update; Expanding Lava Field, Decreasing Activity |
![]() |
It is now day 2 of Iceland's newest volcanic eruption, and already lava has covered and area of 4.21 square kilometers. This figure is only marginally less than the area covered during Fagradalsfjall's 6 month long eruption. Yet, the eruptive activity has substantially decreased to less than one quarter what was observed in hour 1 of the eruption. This video will discuss the ongoing eruption and the damage association with the recently emplaced lava flows.
