Hong Kong tourism sector shrivels during National Day holiday

The escalating violence in Hong Kong has heightened fears and scared away many potential visitors. One of the city’s four pillar industries, tourism, has seen a steep drop during China’s National Day holiday week, a 53.5 percent drop year-on-year in the first six days of October.
